Conures Egg Laying-Taco & Skittles

This is Taco and Skittles  2nd clutch of eggs this year. About a month ago I noticed Taco my pineapple conure eating a lot more food than usual. I honestly thought it was because the weather was changing and she was just getting fat. Haha. Suddenly she became more aggressive towards me and my other family members.

Suddenly I noticed she began to “nest”. By nesting, I mean she began to shred newspaper into pieces. So I figure it was time.

I got her nest box and place it in her cage. She began to spend most of  her time in there. She was pooping a lot more than usual and suddenly develop a “pregnancy bump” haha. She only comes out of the nest box when she’s either hungry, wants to poop, thirty or bored.

It takes Taco about 2 days to laid an egg.

In the other hand, Skittles has been struggling just a bit. He becomes very anxious and bored. my family and I try to give him a lot of an attention. Once we give him the attention he goes to the nest box with Taco for a bit.img_20160925_151556767-1

When I’m eating soft foods such as bananas, oatmeal, peaches homemade apple sauce and etc. He pretty much gets excited and jumps on my shoulder and eat until he’s full.  Then Goes back to the nest box and feeds Taco ♥ Now we will continue this fun journey 😀
